Spring Prayer & Fasting

We invite you to join our Family of Churches in a shared prayer and fasting initiative during the months of April, May, and June. Together, we want to humbly seek the Lord, asking Him to accomplish His purposes in His church and in the lives of men, women, and children across our communities.

Why Fasting?

Fasting is a biblical discipline that deepens the sincerity of our prayers and aligns our hearts with God’s will. It is not about persuading God to act on our terms, but about stilling ourselves before Him and surrendering our will to His. As we fast, our prayers gain focus, our dependence on God grows, and our urgency is renewed. As Psalm 127:1 reminds us, “Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain.” Without His leading and empowerment, our mission cannot succeed.

How to Participate

Consider incorporating fasting into your regular rhythyms during the months of April, May, and June. This may look like setting aside one meal each month — or perhaps one meal each week— using that time to pray instead of eat. Each month we will provide specific prayer points to guide your times of fasting, as well as your regular rhythms of prayer.

Throughout this initiative, we will host prayer gatherings across our Family of Churches. If you are able, we encourage you to join us in person at one of these gatherings as we seek the Lord together.

April prayer Points

  • Right Fear of God

    • Pray that we would have a right fear of God—that His people would take Him seriously, see Him rightly, and stand in awe of who He is. (Proverbs 1:7, Ecclesiastes 12:13, Psalm 33:8, Isaiah 66:2)

  • Humility Before God

    • Pray that God would humble His people—removing pride, self-sufficiency, and entitlement, and giving us lowly, teachable hearts. (James 4:6-10, 2 Chronicles 7:14, Psalm 25:9, Micah 6:8)

  • Repentance & Taking Sin Seriously

    • Pray that we would take our sin seriously—confessing it honestly, turning from it quickly, and walking in true repentance (Psalm 32:3-5, Psalm 51:1-4, 1 John 1:8-9, Luke 18:13-14)

  • Obedience & Submission to God’s Word

    • Pray that we would not just hear God’s Word, but obey it—walking in submission, faithfulness, and integrity. (John 14:15, James 1:22, Deuteronomy 10:12-13, James 3:13)

  • Decreasing so Christ Increases

    • Pray that our lives would be marked by decreasing self and increasing Christ—that our desires, ambitions, and identities would be shaped by Him (John 3:30, Galatians 2:20, Philippians 1:20-21, Colossians 3:1-4)
